D'AIUTO, CRESCIOLI, ROMELE AND KAJAMINI LEAD
THE ITALIANS, NO VICTORY SINCE 2019 WITH BAGLIONI
2024-09-18

Il Lombardia U23 is the classic of the classics and is set to take place on Saturday, October 5, on a traditionally tested and challenging course. For the final victory, besides the foreign riders favored by predictions, eyes will also be on our home riders, the Italians, who have not won since Andrea Bagioli's success in 2019.
They will have a tough job contending for the coveted finish line against competitors like Filippo D'Aiuto (General Store Essegibi F.lli Curia), winner of the GP Capodarco, Florian Samuel Kajamini (MBH Bank Colpack Ballan CSB), and Ludovico Crescioli (Technipes InEmiliaRomagna), both victorious in a stage of the Tour de L’Avenir, Manuel Oioli (Q36.5 Continental Team), Pietro Mattio of Visma Lease a Bike, Alessandro Romele (Astana Qazaqstan), fresh off his second place in the general classification of the Tour of Istanbul, and Nicolò Arrighetti of Biesse Carrera.

However, in a difficult race with an unpredictable finish like the Lombardia U23, the list of favorites would be much longer. There will be thirty-seven teams present: 25 foreign and 12 Italian, with the new addition of the British Zappi Racing Team, featuring William Harding (winner at Corsanico and the GP Carnaghese) and George Wood, winner of the Freccia dei Vini, replacing the American Hagens Berman Jayco team.
