REGISTERED FOR THE U23 LOMBARDIA
Twenty-two days from the start of the Lombardia U23, which will take place on October 5 in Oggiono, in the province of Lecco, the registered participants who will battle along the 170 kilometers of the traditional international race course have been announced. As in 2023, Viale Vittoria will celebrate the successor of Belgian William Junior Lecerf, now a professional with the Soudal Quick Step of the World Tour.
As previously announced, one of the top favorites is Jarno Widar. The Belgian from Lotto Dstny Development is making his debut in the race organized by Velo Club Oggiono after a triumphant season, where he dominated the Giro d'Italia U23 and the Giro della Valle d'Aosta. His main rivals, whose participation has been confirmed by their respective teams, include Norwegian Jorgen Nordhagen, fresh off a victory at the Giro del Friuli, Spaniard Pablo Torres (UAE Emirates Gen Z), second at the GiroU23 right behind Widar, British rider David Golliker (Groupama FDJ), and Frenchman Jean Loup Fayolle from Arkea B&B Hotels Continental. Other contenders for victory are awaiting confirmation of their participation, including athletes of the caliber of Svestad, Rouland, and Swedish time trial vice European champion Soderqvist.
